2020 Democrats hopeful, Cory Booker says he would be “looking for women in the first place,’ as his Vice-President

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N. J., said the search for a female running mate in the year 2020 will be a priority, if he secures the democratic nomination.

Booker, who threw officially his hat in the ring and declared his candidacy for the presidency earlier this month, made the comments Monday night in an interview on MSNBC.

The high-profile senator in the competition against five women in his party have already announced that they will be executed: Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Kirsten Gillibrand, and Tulsi Gabbard.

Booker agreed, he is “blessed among the women in the area now,” before he asked if he would “commit to the choice of a woman” as his running mate.

“I’m going to commitments, not to any specific… we have such a large area of leader, I think you’ll rarely see a democratic party without the gender diversity, race diversity,” he said.

“I’m not going to the box itself, but I should come to him, you know, I’m in search of women in the first place.”

The senator from the state of New Jersey went on to say that he believes that the Democrats have an “abundance of wealth” before 2020, and called to support the party who wins the nomination.
