GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A western Michigan man has been ordered to stand trial in the killing of a 16-year-old girl who had previously accused him of sexual abuse.
Defense attorneys on Friday apart from the first surveys for the 42-year-old James Quinn and his co-defendant, a 58-year-old Gerald Bennett.
James of Wyoming, Michigan, and is charged with the first degree murder and kidnapping. Bennett, of Detroit, is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Mujey Dumbuya is partially clad body was found in January in the woods in Kalamazoo, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) to the southeast of her Grand Rapids home. She was strangled.
James is also accused of sexually assaulting Mujey last summer. He was free on bond in the rape case when her body was found.
