Two Chicago police officers were reportedly struck by a train Monday night while trying to catch a suspect on foot.

The officers, who have not yet been identified, did surveillance on the city’s Far South Side when they were hit by a train just after 6 a.m., the Chicago Tribune reported.

The Chicago Police Department’s chief communications officer, Anthony guglielmi, confirmed on Twitter that two officers were struck by a passing train”, while the investigation into shots, but not confirm that the officers death.
