More than a dozen U.S. Marines were arrested early Thursday on a variety of charges, ranging from trafficking-related offenses, according to officials.
The U. s. Marine Corps said in a news release that 16 us Marines were arrested in an infantry Battalion training at Camp Pendleton, California.
“The information that is obtained from a previous human trafficking investigations like these arrests,” USMC officials said in a statement.

An additional eight us Marines have been “taken aside” to the question of their involvement in an alleged drug-offences which are not related to the key arrest on Thursday, officials added.
A total of 16 Marines were arrested on Thursday at Camp Pendleton, California, for alleged involvement in activities ranging from the smuggling of drug-related offenses,” the officials said.
None of the Marines were arrested or detained, to be interviewed on a Thursday, submitted in support of the ongoing South-west Border in Support of the mission of the Marine Corps said.

“The 1st Marine Division, is committed to justice and the rule of law, and we will continue to fully cooperate with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) on this issue,” officials said in a statment. “All Marines are to be found in connection with the alleged activities of the programme will be held and processed in accordance with the respect of a fair trial.”
