14-year-old charged after crashing into the engine; 2 dead

GONZALES, La. – A 14-year-old driving a car on a highway in the middle of the night, is arrested after police said he collided with a motorcycle, killing both of the riders.

WBRZ-TV, citing a Louisiana State Police press release says the 42-year-old Robert Stafford, and 45-year-old Dusty Duet were pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday. It says the 14-year-old crossed into oncoming traffic on Louisiana Highway 74 and crashed head-on into their motorcycle. The teenager eventually hit a utility pole and was admitted to the hospital with minor injuries. Police do not suspect that he was impaired.

The boy against his unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of intentional homicide.
