The police are investigating reports of a shooting at a Colorado dentist office.

One of the four people shot dead Thursday in the parking lot of a dental office complex in the near of Denver died, and two others were in critical condition, police said.

The victim, who had died of an unknown boy, police in Westminster said. Those seriously injured were his mother and his brother, ” she said.

The fourth victim, a man who has nothing to do with the other three victims, was expected to survive.

“He ran back and I called him, I said, ‘come here, come here, come here,’ and he said I want to go over there, my mother got shot in his ear,” witness Nancy Garcia told KDVR Fox Denver. It is unclear whether they refer to the boy who died.

Meanwhile, a person of interest is in custody, police said.

They said a vehicle seen leaving the area is located about three hours after the shooting, and investigators are interviewing the driver.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

Officers who arrived at the place of the four victims outside, in the Cedarwood Square Office Complex, about 14 km northwest of Denver.

Researchers are interviewing people who are in or in the vicinity of the business complex at the time of the shooting.

“Many of the witnesses to talk and get information,” Cheri Spottke, Westminster Police spokeswoman said. “It is clear that they are angry.”

The police around the complex that is suitable for a variety of dental offices, with yellow tape to block access to the area and placing evidence markers.

A road next to the business park was closed to traffic and the police also closed several lanes of a another major road in the area.

All roads reopened by Thursday night.
